18 months already!

What happen to my little baby!?  I now have a very independent, sassy, full of energy and smart little girl!  She'll be 19 months next week.  She is so much fun right now.  She picks up on things so quickly now.  I can show her something once and she has it down.  But with all those smarts comes the sass!  She thinks she can anything and everything and it gets tough sometimes.  The terrible twos are sneaking up on us...  But with that I love my girl she is my best little pal and I don't know what I would do without her!!  Even tho I'm in school we are hardly apart because she comes to school with me everyday.  And the days she is with her daddy on his days off I still go into the daycare thinking I'll see her.  And then miss her!

Today was her 18 month appointment.  Lots of paper work this time determining her development and problem solving skills and possible Autism.  The doctor said he wasn't concerned at all!  I told him how she won't say a word or animal noise when I tell her to say it but at the appropriate times she says those words without being told.  Like, thank you, all done, see ya, ok, why, no, and yes.  So as soon as he leaves the room I told her to say "car" and she did and every word I asked after that!   Stubborn girl!!  Does she understand that I was telling the doctor I was frustrated about that!?  Probably not..  We also came to the conclusion that she will probably be pretty short, shorter then me if we were going to bet on it.  Here are her stats: weight 24 lbs 69%, height 31 in 17%, head circ. 18 1/2 in 67%.

Here are some pictures from the last month or so.  The first picture was taken on Valentines day.  She really didn't want her picture taken so this was the best one I got...

So independent loves having her own drink when we go out to eat.  (it's only lemonade)

She loves books!  She can really sit and read for 30 minutes straight.  She concentrates so hard and makes a funny humming noise every time she concentrates on anything.  Everyone gets a good kick out of it.

Our little shopper.  She found that head band with the fuzzy hears and walked around the store picking things out.  I was going to buy the head band until I saw how much it was...  I'll just make her one..

In day care they were playing with shaving cream.

Her first time in the snow was a success!  She loved it!  But she did just want to eat it.

I love this.  I found one of her old bottles when I was unpacking and she got her baby right away when I gave it to her.  It's like her motherly instinct kicked in!

She wanted earrings like me so I stuck big smily face stickers on her ears.  She never touched them and got mad at me when I took them off in the tub!

I don't know what it is about the picture but the combo of the hair and my shirt she reminds me of Princess Leah!  Haha  She was obsessed with that shirt for weeks.

Goof!

Love this girl!

  1. She's such a cutie! Don't worry too much about the talking...Irelyn was the EXACT same way! She didn't want to say a word when I asked her to, but would talk on her own here and there. This went on until about the time she was almost 2 1/2 and all of a sudden it was like a switch flipped...she never wanted to stop talking and repeats EVERYTHING we say (to a fault sometimes!)

  2. I completely agree with the talking thing. Caiden didn't really talk until he was 3-4 and even then you couldn't really understand him. It is hard now of days with all that doctors watch for. Just trust your momma instincts. If you don't feel like your doctor takes them into account speak up. :) When it comes to the whole height thing....We both know there is nothing wrong with being short. :) She is a beautiful little girl just like her momma! Your doing great and she will be perfect!

  3. It's funny that now Laina talks so much!! She even says a couple 3 word sentences mostly two words. But she communicating so much better now and repeats me all the time. Or at least tries to say the word. It's cute! I'm not worried at all about her height. Just a fun fact.
