Christmas

Way late post but I wanted to share these pictures.
This year we spent Christmas at my parents house.  It was a lot of fun with Zeign and Laina together.  They kept running back and forth to check out what each other got.  I'm so very grateful to my parents for letting us live with them for a few months.  And I'm grateful that Laina was able to be so close to her grandparents.  She has such a bond with them now!  I love it!

As tradition in my family.  My parents always put a blanket up to the room with the presents from Santa.  To make sure we didn't see what we were getting before my parents were ready.  I love this tradition because when we were all up we would go into the bathroom and bang on the wall to wake up my parents on the other side of the wall.  Then my dad would always come in and say "A herd of elephants woke me up!"

Laina loved her kitchen set!  She wouldn't open her presents after seeing it.

John and his mad gift wrapping skills!  That cool looking bow is hand made.  I don't know how he thinks of this stuff.

This Christmas was so special to me because I was able to spend it with both my families.  Sharing all the same traditions I did with my daughter in my childhood home.  It was a sweet feeling.  I love my family and am so grateful to spend times like these with them.  I'm grateful for my Savior and the love He has for me to give me the opportunity to have an eternal family.  And for my Heavenly Father for sending His Son.

Laina was 15 months in October but forgot to update. Back in October she weighed 23 lbs  70%, and was 30 inches 20%!!  She's still my sweet and chubby baby. She is perfectly healthy and has 6 teeth! She started walking right before her 15 month mark. We thought she would walk sooner because she had such good balance before she was crawling but as soon as she started walking she was cruising!  I think she was talking steps when we were looking. And I think she was scared to walk around the other kids in day care. I took 3 weeks off from school and the 2nd day home she was walking.
She is living up to her hair color stereo type "fiery red" She is miss personality plus with some sass! She is super entertaining but we get quite a few tantrums.. She definitely likes things done a certain way. She's very independent! She can focus on a book for 30 min at a time! She loves TV especially mickey mouse Club house. We've taken her to the movie theater a couple of times and she sits really good through more then half of the movie but then usually falls asleep.
She is talking pretty good. She says mom, dad, Laina, teddy (the dog), thank you, we go bye bye, bath, duh duh(which means look look haha) no (in the cutest way) yeah.
I can't think of any more right now.

The other day she hit her face on a glass table and under her eye started to bruise instantly she my mother-n-law gave her an ice pack but she didn't want me to help her hold it on her face. She took it from me and held it there herself. So we put blanket down and she laid down with the ice pack. Silly girl!

This picture is of Laina on our little lunch date at JCW. She told me she didn't want anything but then ate all her food. She is such a good eater! Her favorite foods are any green vegetables and meat!

The other day I had the flu. Laina was so good to keep herself busy while John was at the store. At one point she found my bra in the CLEAN laundry and was having the best time trying to wear it and playing with her other toys. She was wearing it like a necklace.  You can kind of see it in this picture.

She's in a toddler bed now. She loves it! She falls out of bed quite often though. We have a pile of pillows down so she never gets hurt. She's usually really good to just climb back in bed without even making a peep. She loves books too! I can sit her in bed with a book for an hour and she won't budge.

She loves wearing hats. She finds them in the day care and will wear them almost the whole time.  I would put hats on her all the time but she likes taking them off and putting them back on.

Halloween!!

So I had planned to put these up the next day after Halloween but I couldn't find the cord to download them off the camera.  I'm so glad John found it because this girl in her lady bug costume is too cute!!  I had to put her in a lady bug costume this year because next year she'll probably will want to be a princess or something.  And she is our little Laina bug!  Me and John dressed up as the game pieces from "Guess Who?"  It was funny seeing people's reactions.  Either people got it right away or they said they didn't know who Anita or Phillip are.  It was funny.  Well we just went to a park and took some pictures.  We took like 170 pictures haha so I tried to pick a few to post here.  Enjoy!

She was blowing kisses!

Look at those curls!

Love her blue eyes!

She was playing patty cake.

This one is my favorite!  I had no idea he was making that face.

She's such a stinker.  She loved those glasses!

I love my family!

This girl

These are just a few pictures I took.  She wouldn't look at me much because there was just to much to see and do!  I just took them with my phone and I couldn't see very well most of the time because of the glare on my screen.  But she is so cute they turned out pretty good I think!
Don't mind her crazy hair!! It's out of control these days!  But I love it!

She finally smiled and looked up when she saw John coming!!  She's a total daddy's girl!

She's telling stories in the next two.  I love the expression on her face!

My sweet and crazy red head!

One Year Check Up

We went to the doctor today for Laina's one year appointment.  She got 4 shots and cried really hard, but only for a second and was surprisingly happy the rest of the night.  I wanted to post her stats from today.

She now weighs 21.12 lbs 78%, 28.75 inches 33% (that's only .75 inches more since her 9 month check up!), head 17.75 inches 55%.

The doctor told us after we told him a little bit about our parents.  That pretty much our boys will be tall and our girls will be short.  They get their genes from the opposite sex is how it works.  So that explains why she hasn't grown much taller.  He said she would stay in the lower percentile from now on.  Laina's cousin is going to catch up to her quick!  He is 3 months and last time I checked he was 24 inches long!
Dr. Miller was also surprised that she doesn't have any teeth.  That's right ZERO teeth!  He laughed a little and said the oldest his seen is 18 months.  I hope she gets them sooner then that.  He said one of her tendons in one leg are a little tight and will just take another year to straighten out.  So when she walks sometimes her left foot is turned in a lot more then her right.  He will just check it out again when we go in next.  But no concerns she's healthy and progressing perfectly!  Yay!

Happy Birthday Laina!!

WARNING!!! This is picture central.  I just can't help myself or decide what picture I want to post and share.
It was Laina's first birthday July 26th.  The day before we had a nice little "lady bug" birthday party with just our family at the Spanish Fork splash pad.  I think the kids loved it.  Laina was so funny eating her cake and super chill opening presents.  It was a really hot day (some of the balloons popped from the heat)  so I think that has something to do with her mood.  I think she had a great time tho.
The next day on her actual birthday we took her to the Living Planet Aquarium.  She really liked the big fish.  She was so cute when she'd press her face up to the glass to look at all the fish.  Mady came and loved showing Laina all the interesting things.  We all had a great time!

The Otter's Den.  One of the otters jumped up on top of where we were.  That was pretty cool.

Scary alligator in this shot.  I think Laina looks nervous..

An otter mask in the gift shop.  She didn't move the whole time she wore it.

I was showing her a shark mask.  haha

This type of penguin is just her size.

The biggest penguin in the world is Mady's size!

Watching the penguins eat.

I don't think she liked the shark.  haha  She's screaming it was perfect!

Then didn't seem to care so much with me.

The day before at the family party..

It was to windy so the candle never really lit.  So we just let her play with it for a second.

She wouldn't dig in.  Just touch it a little.  So I shoved her hand into it and then she really enjoyed it.

We forgot to get a picture of both cakes before they were cut.

She loved the splash pad!  And I did eventually put her swim suit on.  She was just covered in cake.

I was soaked by the time we left.

I just want to thank everyone that came and has helped make Laina's day perfect.  We love you all and appreciate all you do for us!
