Grandpa Daley's Funeral

On Monday June 10^th, 2013 James Graham Daley passed away; my dear Grandpa.  He was 80 years old and had just celebrated his 60^th anniversary with his sweetheart.  He had been sick for the past 10 years and really sick in and out of the hospital the last year.  But luckily he passed quickly at home with Grandma after watching the sun go down together on there back porch, as they always did. 

Our family and friends celebrated his life on June 14^th and laid him to rest in the Mt Pleasant cemetery.  It was such a nice funeral for him.  The speakers did a wonderful job remembering him.  We laughed and cried.  I loved hearing stories from my mom and aunts and uncles.  All the granddaughters there got up and sang his favorite hymn, “How Great Thou Art”.  It wasn’t easy to sing and I could hear some of the girls around me stop singing for a moment because of their emotions.  The spirit was so strong.  I know my Grandpa would have had tears in his eyes to hear his girls sing for him.  He always loved us to sing at family get togethers.  Some of us weren’t so into that but we would do it anyway.

His funeral was so bitter sweet.  I’m so glad that I know the gospel and live it in my life.  What a different experience all of this would have been for me.  I know I’ll see my Grandpa again.  I know he is free from pain and is with other loved ones.  I know he is working hard and diligently to help the Lord’s work come to pass.  I know he is watching over us.  I know he is happy.  I’ll miss him but I’m happy for him too.  I know that our family is forever!  I’ll be able to comb his hair again! haha  I love you Grandpa.

Jeep Safari 2013 Moab, UT

We went to Moab during Easter weekend for Jeep Safari.  I have to say this was one of my favorite trips down there.  Even though we were only there for one full day it was a really nice trip.  We took Laina with us.  A lot of people thought we were crazy because she is only 8 months, but she loved it!  She is definitely her father's daughter.  She was made for jeeping and the outdoors.  She did not complain once!  No matter how many times she was in and out of her carseat.  We only took her on one trail called Wipe out, but it was like a 9 hour trail.  Everyone was amazed at how well she was doing taking her naps and keeping hydrated.

 Well that was our trip.  I have to say I have the best little family.  Can't wait for the next family trip.
